I'm a college girl starting a new full-time job on the 5th out here in Beaverton. My major and love in life is music. That's what I'm living for because it's the only thing that keeps me consistently happy, challenged, amused, frustrated and excited. I love cats. I enjoy making people food. Books: I read a lot of science fiction and fantasy when I was younger, and I have been picking through Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Nietchzie, The Blue Adept by Piers Anthony, I just read Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, I adored the Dune series when I was a kid, Under the Banner of Heaven is an interesting read and The People's History of the United States of America is a bit of a tough although intriguing read for me. I can't stay focused on that book for some reason. David Sedaris is hilarious, and I really want to get into House of Leaves. I like other things and tend to pick up and put down books easily. I'm always looking for suggestions.

I have been kind of removed from mainstream society without having a television, so I don't know a lot of what is out there. I am always looking to be exposed to something new!

Food: I like good food. I am not really picky and tend to describe myself as an opportunivore. I would preferably be eating fresh cooked meals with lots of veggies and yummy sauteed things such as onions and chicken everyday. I like thai, chinese, mexican and italian foods. Sushi is bliss and makes one glow for up to 48 hours after consuming. I love a good burger or a nicely done slab of salmon/sturgeon/tuna. I would really like to broaden my horizons of ethnic food varieties. I like good tofu. Crepes are heaven. Coffee and tea are bringers of life. A good heffewizen, IPA or cider beer can do wonders for a lonely soul on a cold night with a friend. I will probably try just about anything once.

Why the world is the way it is, the nature of being human and the meaning of it all and how I choose to relate to it all...

Oh, and random stuff that most people don't think about because I tend to over-analyze everything. Like how the world is going to go to hell in 2012 and how my survival skills will hack up in the societal breakdown (thanks to my parents, this is a little more than a half-realistic notion...)

I also dream about having a house on some land with a garden, music studio, pottery shed, 9 trillion kitties and other animals. Then I start daydreaming about the things I love:

Either at band practice, doing homework, watching movies at home or killing time reading, watching the news, or harassing long distance friends. I really like immersing myself into a good book, or maybe I'm doing some vocal harmonies with my multi-track recording program. Maybe I'm tearing apart clothing to stitch back together. Plotting to take over the world happens often on Fridays...or is that Tuesdays?

Actually, I am afraid of getting too far too fast into people's personal spaces. This can lead me to seem a little distant at first to some. I've had a lot of friends with space issues, so I've learned to respect that. I've also been kinda damaged from my other relationships, so it can take me a little to warm up to hugs because I'm still on the mend and still a bit standoffish. I hate it, but it's true. I love hugs, though, so it doesn't take long before I'm demanding a hug whenever I see my friends!
