Quem sou eu...

I am a college-aged girl still trying to figure out who she is and what she wants. That said, I can say whatever I want here in this box, but who knows how true that'll be a few months down the road.

I'm gonna guess no one is actually satisfied by that answer, so I might as well tell you the who-I-am and what-I-want that's true right now.

So, for now, I am a physics student in my 3rd year of undergrad. I did an REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) this past summer at Los Alamos National Lab in New Mexico. Thankfully that went well, so I should be going back there next summer as well. After having lived there for a summer, I've found that I absolutely love the southwest. Being home, I miss the dry climate, the people, the culture and all of the awesome outdoors. In general, I love physics, audio, swing dance, hiking, rock climbing and all sorts of other outdoors-y stuff.

As far as guys, I'm no longer looking. Sorry!! (I found NoValidTitle and he's awesome!!)

Right now I'm at school, majoring in Physics. I am majoring in physics because I enjoy it and think it's fascinating. Yes, I'm entirely serious when I say that. I am fascinated by acoustics and particle physics and am happy to be learning more about them. I spend most of my time going to class, working at one of my two jobs, swing dancing or spending time with friends.

doing stuff? I hate questions like this. I guess I'm good at mixing audio (better at live than editing after-the-fact) and doing nerdy stuff. I'm finding that I'm apparently a great swing dancer as well.

That I'm fairly...strange. I tend to get really excited about things that may seem geeky or silly to other people. Some people find that cute/entertaining/fun, others just think I'm weird. I also am always very willing to strike up a conversation, whether I know you or not. Generally, if I'm standing around (say in line) near someone for more than a few minutes, I'm likely to say hello or make a comment about whatever the current situation may be.

Also, I giggle a lot. That's just a bit noticable.

Livros, filmes, músicas e cozinhas

a) There are way too many good books in the world to be able to pin down just one as a favorite. I've taken a liking to Kurt Vonnegut though.

B) Don't really watch enough movies to have much of an opinion here, but I'll hafta say I like Moulin Rouge and Amelie as well as a few others. (Hey, guess I'm a musical person).

C) Recently, I've been listening to almost entirely swing jazz. Swing dancing has taken over many aspects of my life in the past few years, and that includes my music taste. Also, the Amelie soundtrack is wonderful, and listening to it always makes me happy, no matter how crappy I'm feeling beforehand.

D) Cheese, chocolate and strawberries, in no particular order. Oooh, and pierogies (no one in NM even knew what pierogies were, so after a summer of not having a food I really liked already, I miss them a lot). I'm also discovering that I really enjoy many foods that I wasn't very fond of when I was younger. Recent things I have developed a taste for include avocado (some of the best guacamole exists in NM), lemon (especially lemon poppyseed muffins...yumm :-D), sushi and green tea.

(Also, I assume that most people reading this understand that, if needed, I definitely COULD live without these things, but they do make life more pleasant. This seems to be a subject of controversy lately.)

I prefer to spend my Fridays (or any night that I don't have anything to go to early the next morning) either swing dancing, doing any one of various outdoor activities (rock climbing, hiking, etc.) or just spending a calm night with friends. I usually only attend parties if a close friend is the host.

As much as I'd love to deny it, I'm totally over-paranoid when it comes to being alone in the dark, unless I'm on the way to being asleep. As a friend put it, I have a thing about basements. I don't like them much, especially the ones in the old houses around here.
